A driver who was being pursued Friday afternoon by Massachusetts State Police troopers on Route 128 flipped his car.
The victim crashed on Route 128 near Exit 52 for Crafts, according to the Northeast Massachusetts Emergency Alerts and witness reports.
The alert, which was offered after 2 p.m., reported a rollover crash with entrapment after the pursuit.
Officers on the scene requested hydraulic extraction tools to help remove the driver from the vehicle.
Route 128 northbound was closed from Crafts Road to Grant Circle around 3 p.m. Traffic in the area is backed up on both sides of the highway, as well on Causeway Street, Essex Avenue and other nearby roads.
